Nurse aide training in Massachusetts is conducted through vocational schools, the Red Cross, community colleges, technical schools, universities and nursing facilities. The cost of registering for these programs ranges from $800 to $2000. Therefore, you can choose the CNA classes according to your budget. If you want flexibility of timing and want to schedule the time of training as per your convenience, go for online classes, but the clinical portion is required to be completed in person.
The nursing aide classes are designed to provide at least 25 hours of classroom lecture and 75 hours of clinical practice to the aspiring students. Therefore, the minimum duration of state-approved CNA programs is 100 hours. During classroom lecture, students learn about medical terms, anatomy and physiology, work ethics, basic nutrition, patient’s right, etc. The clinical training takes place in hospitals, clinics or nursing homes and teaches about how to keep the record, controlling the infection, repositioning and grooming of patients, etc.
