CNA Classes in Pennsylvania: In-depth Information
The Pennsylvania state law requires you to take 80 hours of training, including 16 hours of hands-on-experience in clinics. These programs focus in the following areas: basic anatomy, understanding medical terminology, taking vital signs, basic patient care, safety techniques in emergencies, interpersonal skills, techniques in infection control, proper nutrition, etc.
To put your name down in a state recognized nurse aide training program, you are required to meet some prerequisites, including 18 years of age and a diploma in high school or its equivalent. You will have to submit in-depth physical examination as well as extensive background checks to confirm that you are in good vigour.
Certified nursing assistant programs are regulated and ascribed by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing. The average fee for these classes varies from $800 to $1,200.
