The training programs must be acknowledged by the New Jersey Department of Health and Human Services. For enrolling for certified training programs, students should:
- Have at least eighteen years of age.
- Have submitted fingerprint and background check.
- Possess good physical stamina.
- Hold a proof of a GED or diploma in high school.
- Undergone a complete health screening and get all of the immunizations.
State accredited CNA classes are offered by various facilities and institutes, such as hospitals, community colleges, long-term health care facilities, nursing homes, local Red Cross chapters, vocational schools, high schools, retirement communities, clinics, etc. You may have to spend several hundreds of dollars to enrol for classes. However, the state law mandates the healthcare facilities to reimburse the whole training costs, if they recruits licensed nurse aides within 1 year of certification.
