Beth Israel School of Nursing was founded in the Greater New York Metropolitan Area of New York during 1904 and, in 1978, the school was granted approval to grant the degree of Associate in Applied Science in Nursing. In 1983, an academic affiliation was formed with Pace University, which facilitated offering of the liberal arts component of the program. The National League for Nursing provided full accreditation to the school in 1985. Being the part of Beth Israel Medical Center, the students of the school gets easy opportunity for practical clinical hands-on experience at a renowned teaching hospital.


The concentration of students from the Greater New York Metropolitan Area is higher in the school and there are nearly 300 men and women, ranging from 18 to over 50, and with diverse, religion, ethnic origin, cultural and economic backgrounds, have enrolled in the School.

The School in partnership with Pace University jointly offers liberal arts co-requisite courses, where Pace professors teach the liberal arts co-requisite courses on site. The School has also formed an articulation agreement with New York University and Excelsior College, which allows award of nearly 65 credits for the Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.

The curriculum of the school is prepared in such fashion that students are able to earn an Associate in Applied Science degree in two years. Further the students also have the option to obtain education full time or part-time basis, receive transfer credit for comparable courses and eligible students can also avail financial aid including scholarships, grants, and loans.

The Curriculum of the school is designed for Three-Year Schedule (33 Months), where the starting Year I teaches the curriculum’s science and liberal arts pre/co-requisite courses and, in Years II and Year III, Nursing courses are instructed in Classes, which run from Monday through Friday between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM.


Accreditation

Phillips Beth Israel School of Nursing is accredited by The National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission and registered by the New York State Education Department.

Beth Israel School of Nursing is affiliated with Pace University.

The school has an articulation agreement for BS degree completion with Excelsior College, Albany, New York, and New York University School of Nursing

The achievement of the school was, 97% of the school graduates passed the National Council Licensure Exam-RN (NCLEX-RN) on their first try in 2010 and this was also highest pass rate of all associate degree programs in New York City.
