An Associate’s Degree

Earning of an Associate’s Degree, can offer you an opportunity for entry-level positions in clinical settings, which can lead to licensure as a Registered Nurse. Nursing License

You are required to earn Licensure by passing the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN) after completing an accredited nursing degree program for becoming a NP.

A Bachelor of Science Degree

The obtaining of a bachelor’s degree with subjects, such as  pharmacology, health assessment, psychiatric nursing, mental health, community health and pediatric nursing also assist you for a master’s degree program, which is again the minimum education requirement for becoming a nurse practitioner.

A Master’s Degree

Certification

The completion of a MS degree program and earning of licensure facilitate your appearing for the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) or American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) certification examination. The specialties that are offered to you include school nursing, advanced diabetes management, family care, mental health, acute care and pediatrics. For any specialization, you need to sit for a specialty certification examination offered by the American Nurse’s Credentialing Center (ANCC). The ANCC requires examinees to have a master’s degree in nursing.
