VCU School of Nursing has long legacy of nursing heritage and was founded in 1893 at Richmond, VA 23298. The School of Nursing is part of the VCU Medical Center, which is a campus of a comprehensive academic health sciences and, the hospital has been accorded ANCC Magnet Hospital status in 2006.The graduates from the school have offered excellence in cares to untold numbers of patients over the years.
The continuous innovation and new discoveries in nursing field also prompted the VCU to commit with its mission of patient care and safety, research, teaching and service. To meet its mission, the school offers state-of-the-science facility, which provides cutting-edge research, innovative educational technologies and faculties, who wholeheartedly commit to prepare students to be the best nurses, nurse leaders and nurse educators. At present, more than 1,000 students are attending quality Bachelor’s, Masters and Doctoral programs from VCU.

All nursing programs of VCU School of Nursing are accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) and approved by the Virginia Board of Nursing.
Research & Scholarships
VCU School of Nursing is ranked 19th nationally in NIH funding and the school offers the leading edge of nursing research and scholarship to its students. The teaching scholarship is concentrated particularly in clinical simulation.
